Help Trafficking and Addiction Survivors to Recover and to Know Christ

NORTH PLATTE, NE   |  https://kadeshfoundation.org

Mission

Kadesh Foundation combats human trafficking and addiction using Christ-centered discipleship to drive prevention and restoration. We do this by locating, funding, and otherwise supporting ministries that fulfill this mission, both in the United States and other countries. Our primary focus is with long-term restoration home ministries that enable survivors of human trafficking and addiction to recover. Our secondary focus is on preventative ministries, including public education on human trafficking and addiction. We will engage in multiple activities and methods to achieve our purpose. We will keep Christ and discipleship at the core of all our efforts.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Human trafficking has been estimated to be a 150-billion dollar industry. (International Labor Organization) There were over 70,000 opioid overdose deaths in 2017 in the United States. This is so significant that it is dropping the average life expectancy in our country. Most insurance companies only pay for about 4 weeks of detoxification. The two are connected because human traffickers use drugs and coerced addiction as a means of controlling their labor and sex workers, and often criminals have their hands in both industries. Every day people who have struggled to reach a better lifestyle after escaping human trafficking and addiction fall back into their old bonds because they know nothing else. Many survivor-assistance programs are too short-term and non-encompassing to make a lasting impact. In the case of opioid addiction, many end up back in their old habits, and, as indicated by the number above, many end up in the morgue.

Restoration Houses

Kadesh Foundation locates select restoration houses, primarily in the states, but also abroad, for the survivors of human trafficking and addiction. We find houses with active and planned programs for survivors and help fundraise for them.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We work to enable effective restoration for people who have been subject to human trafficking and addiction. We have found that restoration programs that are long-term, faith-based, and full of regular accountability have high and enduring success rates (upwards of 80% or more).

Research has found that it takes between one and two years to retrain the brains' conditioning to addiction. Deeply ingrained habits and lifestyles take a

We connect with long-term, faith-based restoration homes and build a relationship in which we are able to visit and see the effectiveness of the program, and then contribute to the program financially and through prayer.
We connect with people in our lives, on the web, and in public to build awareness and and enable them to contribute to effective restoration programs.

We have a generous supporter in our founder, who contributes to cover 100% of our operational expenses, plus contributes to some of our program expenses of supporting restoration homes as well.

We have had relationships with people who have been through issues of, or issues closely related to human trafficking and addiction, and a consequentially urgent drive and passion for addressing these issues.

We have a board of experienced business and ministry professionals with wide networks.

We have a staff of many-skill-hats volunteers.

We have entered into relationships with seven restoration ministries since our founding. Five of these are still active and effective ministries we support. (The others closed because of a lack of successors).

We have reached out to additional restoration ministries and plan on continuing to reach out.

We have developed web, print, and audiovisual media about the issue, restoration programs, and our organization.

We are working on website, and other media, including an animated explainer video, and a restoration ministry testimony video this year of 2020. We are also generating and exploring ideas for outreach at venues such as fairs, churches, and other public gatherings.
