Hollis Renewal Center, Inc.

Extending Christian Hospitality to all since 1988

Kansas City, KS   |  www.holliscenter.org

Mission

Hollis Renewal Center provides environment and experience for individuals and groups seeking spiritual growth and renewal. Set on 153 acres in the hills 20 minutes west of downtown KC, Hollis Renewal Center provides "a time and place apart" for individuals, small groups and organizations to pause and reflect on their mission. It embodies hospitality and gives guests the time and space to be transformed from a collection of individuals into a community. We take very seriously the gifts of time, land, buildings and resources as we use them wisely and care for their sustainability into the future. Hollis is a place for prayer and hospitality to provide opportunities for reflection, learning, and renewal for groups and individuals

Hollis Crossings Summer Day Camp is a fun, active and faith-filled week during the summer for children grades K-5. During the week, kids run, play, jump, explore the outdoors and make new friends…while experiencing God love for all. Hollis receives both staff and program from Camp Tomah Shinga , an accredited camp with the Lutheran Outdoor Camping Association.

WHY IS HOLLIS CROSSINGS UNIQUE?
50% of our campers each year are children who would otherwise not have a camp experience. Through generous scholarships from Atonement Lutheran, Kaw Prairie Community Church, Salem Lutheran, Trinity Lutheran and many individuals about 20-25 children will have a camp experience this year.

Each year Hollis has the privilege of hosting local artisans in the Hollis lodge for our annual Winter Art Fair. Held at the Hollis Lodge the first Saturday in December, this event is a celebration of art and community.

Mediums include pottery, photography, handmade jewelry, hand turned wood working and more. Artists submit applications to sell their works. Hollis receives a percentage of the sales, but does not charge an application or booth fee.

Mission of the event is to promote the arts and foster community.

BrickWorks is a family friendly service program hosted at Hollis, that helps sort & break apart donated legos. Partnering with the THE GIVING BRICK, a Kansas City based non-profit that collects used LEGO bricks, repackages sets, and gives them children served by CASA of Jackson County. Through out the summer families joined us at Hollis to experience the joy of working together as a community to serve others. During our BrickWorks service hours, we sort through donated LEGO bricks and break apart already assembled LEGO pieces.

All attendees are welcome to bring sack lunches or snacks, and explore the trails & hills of Hollis before or after the service event.
