Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Dharma School

We teach mindfulness, meditation, and introductory elements of the Buddhist path. Our structured program provides children with a language for articulating what they feel, a framework for understanding their experiences, and a method for expanding on their natural spiritual gifts. Our curriculum has five units: meditation, kindness, ethics, character, and service. Each class contains activities, stories, guided meditations, and games, each focusing on the day’s lessons.

The Kansas Zen Center focuses on practice. When you practice meditation within a community, you can quickly go beyond obstacles to wisdom and compassion. The Kansas Zen Center exists solely to help you in that effort by maintaining regular weekly practice in its new Lawrence, KS building as well as Zoom access for distance practitioners across the country and around the world. We are an affiliate of the Kwan Um School of Zen.
