With Compassion We Create Better Futures
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our program, Looking at the Past and Learning from the emerging future, has the potential to serve as a transformative educational experience promoting social justice, civic responsibility and compassionism, thus bridging the gap of relevance; why are history’s lessons adaptable today and what’s my role? The learning experience looks at the past – a uniquely important rescue action during WWII – and connects with the present as well as the emerging future [a divided nation, displaced human beings, refugee situation, migration etc] Why is this learning experience important to your students need? The learning experience will create agents of change and teach moral responsibility. It will build tolerant attitudes, cooperative and collaborative behaviors, compassion as well as further skills encouraging civility. The historical context of the White Bus rescue action in World War II offers a clear example of courageous, moral advocacy in the face of systemic injustice.

White Bus For Better Futures™
IMPACT STATEMENT
"Save One Life...and Save The World"
We might just have done that last year. Keep on reading to learn more about it.
Fostering agents of change and inspiring one soul at the time by sharing the story about the historic rescue action which is the symbol for our Mission, White Bus For Better Futures™!
The Swedish Red Cross White Bus rescue action was the largest rescue action during WWII were a few hundred volunteers rescued 15,500 Holocaust victims of different nationalities and religious background.
Life Changing Events
Elsie & Grace
Last year we facilitated a life changing event for Grace, a 17 year old Holocaust denier, to meet with Elsie, a 97 year old Holocaust survivor.
Elsie spent 6 months in Auschwitz and another 4 months in Ravensbruck concentration camp where she was rescued on April 24th, 1945 by the White Buses.
After 3 hours around Elsie’s kitchen table Grace realized she had been misinformed. Elsie and Grace are now close friends and stay connected through letters, over the phone and face to face visits.
Helga & Ursula & Margit
Helga, an 89 year old Holocaust survivor from our area, was reconnected with her long lost host family in Sweden where she recovered after being held captive at Bergen Belsen concentration camp
Helga travelled to Stockholm last June where she met her Swedish "sisters" face to face for the first time since 1946.
It was an incredible reunion that we are proud to be a part of.
