Annual production of the Christmas portion of Messiah: A Sacred Oratorio by G. F. Handel

The Sarasota Choral Society announces its 75th consecutive annual production of the Christmas portion of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah: A Sacred Oratorio at Church of the Palms in Sarasota, on December 7, 2019. The performance will feature an orchestra of select musicians many of whom are principal players from the Sarasota Orchestra, organ accompaniment, four world-class soloists, and The Sarasota Choral Society chorus. Led by Artistic Director Geneviève Beauchamp, the organization has been favorably compared with other such productions from major metropolitan areas. Dr. Jonathan Spivey will be returning on the organ. A prelude given by Sarasota Young Voices (SYV) is planned. Tickets will go on sale in late October for the performance, times still to be determined, and are usually available at  Twice’s Nice (366-2188), Church of the Palms office, and from any Sarasota Choral Society member.
