What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
ADVOCACY
FAEA's Advocacy resources include professional management and public affairs services by the Center for Fine Arts Education, Inc. (CFAE), which provides relevant legislative tracking and analysis and updates to members, a legislative Q&A on FAEA's website, and action alerts.
CFAE has also sponsored a Cohort Study about Fine-arts-related Instruction's Influence on Academic Success, as well as designed a Visual Arts and Academics brochure, both of which are publicly available.
AWARDS
The Florida Art Education Association presents annual awards:
To recognize individuals within the membership who have achieved the highest level of professionalism in art education; and
To show appreciation for individuals or organizations that have contributed their services in an exemplary way to the association and to the professional goals we share.
FAEA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE
Each year, more than 500 FAEA members participate in the association's Professional Development Conference, which features more than 180 hands-on, lecture, professional development, and general sessions.
The FAEA conference is the largest of its kind for Florida art educators, hosting an exhibit hall of more than 30 local, state, and national art education vendors, associations, and universities.
MEMBER VIRTUAL EXHIBITION
Each year, FAEA's art educator members are invited to submit their own original artwork to be assessed by a panel of judges. The winners' artwork is displayed on FAEA's website, and all entries and the artists are celebrated at a reception during the annual Professional Development Conference.
K-12 STUDENT ART ASSESSMENT AND VIRTUAL EXHIBITION
The purpose of the program is to serve as a statewide assessment for visual art and promote the achievements of students enrolled in visual art classes throughout Florida.
YOUTH ART MONTH
Youth Art Month (YAM) is celebrated during the month of March. FAEA encourages its members to get involved in YAM by submitting a student design for Florida’s Youth Art Month Flag competition. The winning design is exhibited along with other state YAM flags at the National Association for Art Education's annual conference.
