What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Delaware Preservation Fund

The Delaware Preservation Fund provides financial assistance to owners of historic properties. Assistance is usually in the form of mini-grants and rehabilitation loans.

The Fund was created by Preservation Delaware and incorporated in December of 2000. Seed money for the Fund was provided through the generosity of the General Assembly of the State of Delaware and the Longwood and Welfare Foundations. The Fund is administered by its own Board of Directors and a part-time Project Director.

The mission of the Delaware Preservation Fund is to preserve the architectural heritage and the historic built environment of Delaware, through financial assistance to owners of historic properties, through acquisition of unwanted and threatened properties, and through related support programs.

In addition, we will examine the relationship between our carbon footprint and historic structures and why older structures may make economic and philosophical sense to save using “reuse and renew”.
