Mission

THE CAPE HENLOPEN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (CHEF) IS AN INDEPENDENT 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WHICH RAISES FUNDS TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES FOR THE CAPE HENLOPEN SCHOOL DISTRICT. OUR PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE IS TO INSPIRE LEARNING, AND TO PREPARE ALL STUDENTS FOR A HEALTHY, PRODUCTIVE LIFE IN A DIVERSE AND GLOBAL SOCIETY. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, WE SEEK TO ENGAGE THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY - EDUCATORS, PARENTS, BUSINESS, CIVIC AND LEGISLATIVE LEADERS - IN PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO EXCEL.

GRANTS FOR CHARACTER EDUCATION ARE GRANTS THAT PROVIDE POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT AND ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAMS AND ASSEMBLIES IN OUR SCHOOLS. GRANTS FOR CLASSROOM TEACHERS PROVIDE TEACHERS WITH FUNDING FOR PROJECTS THAT ENRICH EDUCATION, FILL UNMET NEEDS AND SERVE AS INCUBATORS FOR INNOVATION IN OUR SCHOOLS. GRANTS FOR THE HOMELESS CHILDREN'S PROGRAM ASSIST THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH PROVIDING FOOD AND CLOTHING FOR HOMELESS CHILDREN IN THE CAPE HENLOPEN SCHOOL DISTRICT.
