Our Case for Support
At Home Instead Charities, we see the opportunities a growing aging adult population creates. Aging adults enrich our communities and our lives. Home Instead Charities is committed to protecting the quality of life for all aging adults, with the intent that every aging adult has the opportunity to age with dignity and independence. But we can’t do it alone.

The aging adult population is rapidly growing, yet our society is not prepared to handle this exponential growth. Every day in the United States, 10,000 people are turning 65 years old. Government funding is not keeping pace and nonprofit organizations are providing more services and programs with less funding. The Census Bureau reports one in seven seniors is living in poverty. Yet, less than 2% of funding from the nation’s largest grant-makers, as well as donors at the grassroots level, are committed to aging adults.

We are leading the effort to inspire greater charitable giving in support of aging adults, and we won’t stop until the nation’s largest grant makers, as well as donors at the grassroots level are committed to helping less fortunate aging adults. All aging adults deserve the chance to age with independence and dignity. We believe our work to help nonprofit organizations increase their capacity to care for aging adults in need will have the greatest impact on the aging adults who need it most.

One in seven aging adults is living in poverty. To maintain their quality of life, many aging adults rely on the nonprofit sector for basic needs like meals, transportation, housing, senior center activities and so much more. Give65, the signature program of Home Instead Charities, is an online giving platform committed to honoring all aging adults and their aging journey by partnering with nonprofit organizations to inspire greater charitable giving in support of aging adults.

Home Instead Charities hosts two giving events each year. The first event takes place in July and is called Give65. This is Home Instead Charities signature program and is a 65-hour online giving event. Our second event is called #GivingTuesday and is a 24-hour online giving event which takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year.

Through the Give65 Event, a 65-hour online giving event held in July, nonprofits can rally their communities to raise funds, recruit volunteers and increase awareness for senior-focused programs and services that are giving aging adults hope! Home Instead Charities Give65 Incentive Fund provides matching and financial awards to incentivize giving. At Give65.org donations of $10 or more can help aging adults in need of food, shelter, transportation, senior center activities and so much more! Visit Give65.org to learn more!
