Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
CSS Food Pantry Program
Offering distribution of food and emergency foodstuffs - including fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats - in Baden and Accokeek, Maryland, a total of 3 mornings weekly. Food pantries operate like a small grocery store where clients 'shop' and choose what they prefer. Homebound Delivery is provided in the Brandywine area for clients who are ill or otherwise unable to come to the pantry site. Mission Nutrition is held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 3pm to 5pm to service our working clients. Workshops relevant to our population such as social security benefits are offered each quarter. Blood pressure / blood sugar screening are offered at all sites weekly by an RN.
CSS Advocacy Program & Assistance Fund
Help applying for benefits such as SNAP, Energy Assistance, Renter's Tax Rebate, and the like. Mentoring. Job search and application assistance. Transportation to the doctor's. Limited financial assistance for critical needs like rent, mortgage, utilities, medications, car repairs. Homeless prevention help.
CSS Shared Senior Living Program
