What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

College and Career Success

Multi-year programming takes place at Baltimore area STEM oriented businesses and institutions, begins in 11th grade and is offered at no cost. Accepted through an application process, students must attend one of Building STEPS 15 over-challenged, under-resourced partner Baltimore City public high schools, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, strong attendance and an interest in science and technology. The five core components are a continuum of programming designed to create STEM career exposure and unlock potential: STEM Seminars, Summer Experience, College Workshops, College Connect and Alumni Services. Monthly programming takes place during the school day and is considered co-curricular. Nearly 80% of program graduates earn a college degree. The majority return to Baltimore to begin their career, start their family and contribute to their community.
