Foundation for Middle East Peace

Mission

The Foundation for Middle East Peace was created in 1979 by Merle Thorpe, Jr., a Washington-based lawyer and philanthropist, to promote a just resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Foundation advances this goal through its grants program, public programming, and research. FMEP produces a daily summary of news from Israel and Palestine, a weekly report of Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank, and a legislative roundup of Israel-related activity in the U.S. Congress (produced every week Congress is in session).
