Mission

The Richmond Virginia Council Navy League is a civilian, volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable educational organization. Our primary mission is to support the men and women of our Sea Services: US Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and Military Sealift, their families and our related local Naval Sea Cadet and JROTC Youth programs. We support all branches of active duty military personnel and their families with care packages and monetary contributions to Morale Welfare and Recreation Programs. Through the National Navy League, we are advocates for legislation regarding the Sea Services.

Richmond Virginia Council Navy League of the United States

The Richmond Virginia Council Navy League of the United States devotes civilian volunteer time, money and energy to support and improve the well-being of American service personnel and their families. Our local council adopts or supports ships and shore commands in the Richmond and Hampton Roads areas of Virginia. We reward and honor enlisted personnel of the year; host educational luncheons with speakers for our members, the public and military personnel; attend commissioning of new Navy ships and Change of Command ceremonies; raise money and provide volunteer workers for various activities to benefit military personnel, and host a Sea Services celebration. In keeping with our educational objective, the Richmond Council Navy League also supports America's young people through our largest single beneficiary, the America Division Sea Cadets as well as nine JROTC units in the Richmond Area. Importantly, we are one of the few Navy League Councils who support forward-deployed personnel with a Care Package Program.
