What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Sinclair Health Clinic is committed to providing high quality health care services to those who otherwise cannot access care due to their income and/or lack of health insurance. More than one in every ten adults under the age of 65 years are uninsured in Frederick County, Clarke County, and the city of Winchester. Members of our community should not have to choose between their health and paying the rent. They should not be left to suffer and die prematurely because of economic disadvantage. That is why our team is committed to improving the health of our community one patient at a time.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Sinclair Health Clinic’s mission is to improve the health of our patients. In addition to clinical quality metrics, Sinclair Health Clinic’s goals are as follows:
- Increase the number of unique patients served
- Connect more people who are underserved to medication assistance programs
- Expand pharmacy services to include those insured by Medicaid. As of 2020, The Pharmacy at Sinclair Health Clinic cannot submit insurance claims.
- Partner with other community resources and nonprofits to support patients in addressing clinical and non-clinical needs that influence health and strengthen referral networks

Sinclair Health Clinic is embarking on a robust outreach strategy to increase service awareness that includes commercial broadcasts, social media, a more robust web presence, and building a stronger network of referring partners. Sinclair Health Clinic will increase the number of volunteer and paid staff to further expand capacity and the breadth of services offered.

Sinclair Health Clinic supports its strategic plan set forth by its board of directors with the necessary resources achieved through grants and community support. The Clinic has highly qualified staff including licensed, board-certified medical providers and pharmacists. Its collaborations, including with Valley Health and Shenandoah University, helps the clinic make a bigger impact than it could alone and improves ongoing sustainability efforts.

In 2022, Sinclair Health Clinic shattered all-time records for the number of unique patients served. It earned a Gold Rating through the National Association for Free and Charitable Clinics for quality. We will continue to improve quality and outreach efforts.

Sinclair Health Clinic embedded additional screenings to support the ideal of providing holistic "whole person" care. Every new patient receives a full battery of laboratory tests to establish a baseline, diagnose hidden conditions, and understand the patients' body; receives a full physical; undergoes an emotional wellness assessment; and is screened for social determinants that are addressed by the community health team.
