What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Protecting the Sacred
The Indigenous perspective on life, so different from the Western cultural perspective, is based on an awareness that all things are connected to each other and necessary to each other, and that these relationships are sacred.
Indigenous people everywhere have been struggling to keep their traditions and their cultures alive. Their land, their sacred sites, and their traditions are in peril of being lost.
In compliance with our mission, Sacred Fire Foundation supports initiatives that seek to protect and promote Indigenous perspective and worldview, from preserving sacred sites and native food traditions, to maintaining cycles of ceremony, to revitalizing languages, healing practices and traditional crafts.
Voices of Wisdom
Sacred Fire Foundation events aim to make the living experience of Indigenous Wisdom and its profound healing influence available to all people everywhere.
Wisdom Treasure Award
The Wisdom Treasure Award is presented annually to honor the work of an Elder who has demonstrated lifelong achievement in bringing wisdom, leadership and learning to their people and their community.
Seeds of Trust
The Sacred Fire Foundation is leveraging its funding resources by developing significant collaborations between its Community Partners. The SFF is aware of the diverse cultures and knowledge that pertain to the different Indigenous communities we partner with. The SFF also understand that Indigenous communities across the globe face similar challenges in their specific contexts. The Seeds of Trust Program is looking for organic ways to promote exchange and collaborations amongst Community Partners, to promote knowledge-sharing, peer-to-peer learning, mentorship, and training to ensure the continuance of ancestral wisdom in our world.
Program Purpose:
•To facilitate an on-the-ground global Indigenous practitioner’s network
•To promote peer to peer training and technical assistance
•To leverage the minimal funds available for Indigenous Peoples
•To create and foster reciprocal relationships amongst our partners
•To create solidarity amongst Indigenous Peoples globally
