What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Adult Education
Free classes offered to anyone over age 16 who wants to work toward a high school equivalency, earn a certification for work, or simply brush up on skills before pursuing a different job or more education.
Basic Needs
Helps low-income individuals/families meet basic needs, including food (pantries, meal deliveries, hot meals), utility/rental assistance, and other items like cleaning or personal care supplies when available.
Case Management
Helps individuals/families develop healthy interdependence and stability, and works with them to set goals toward improving their physical, emotional, and social well-being
Child & Adult Care Food Program
Offers a federally funded, partial meal reimbursement and ongoing education/support to family child care providers who are licensed by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources
Child Care Resource Center
Provides families with resources on selecting the best quality child care, offers training and behavior consultation to child care providers, and administers the state's child care subsidy, which provides financial assistance to cover the cost of child care while parents participate in a qualifying activity.
Disaster Services
Provides help to people in West Virginia when disasters strike with the goal of returning people to safe, secure, and stable housing. Staff provides guidance and support to Long-Term Recovery Committees, walks affected families through the recovery process, and connects people to needed resources.
HomeCare
Enables elderly clients and people with disabilities to remain in their own homes by providing trained homemakers who assist with personal care, housework, cooking, and transportation to medical appointments, the pharmacy, or the grocery store.
Migration & Refugee Services
Strives to make newcomers to the U.S. feel welcome and supported by providing immigration legal assistance to individuals/families navigating our immigration system, connecting clients to English language classes and other community resources as needed, and helping refugees resettle in WV.
WV Birth to Three
Determines eligibility, works with families and specialists to decide what supports and services are needed for children ages birth to three who have a delay in their development or may be at risk, and links families to appropriate community resources.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach
Educates people about SNAP and helps eligible individuals/families apply for the program.
