Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro's vision for our city is a welcoming and thriving place where people work together to enrich the lives of all.

The Community Foundation accomplishes this by:
• Understanding what matters to the community;
• Being a trusted partner that empowers others;
• Shepherding successful projects that draw the community together; and,
• Helping diverse donors create impactful gifts.

We promote philanthropy by addressing emerging community issues, managing permanent endowments, and working with individuals, families, corporations, private foundations, and nonprofit organizations in achieving their charitable objectives. The Foundation serves as a trustworthy partner and leader in shaping effective responses to community issues and opportunities.

The Foundation is staffed by a team of professionals who are experts not only in managing funds, but also in helping donors determine how they can make the greatest community impact. In addition, we're guided by a broad-based board of directors who bring their own unique backgrounds and perspectives to the work we do.

The foundation has created partnerships with local entities to coordinate the community indicators project.

The foundation created a taskforce comprised of business people and community volunteers to assess the state of the arts community. Taskforce members are surveying arts-based nonprofits and business to determine the strengths and opportunities of our current arts community.

The Housing Our Community taskforce is utilizing recent housing reports to implement a plan to increase affordable housing. In March 2018, a housing hub opened to consolidate the service offered by various nonprofits that related to affordable housing.
