Global Scholars
Equip. Influence. Renew.
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our children and grandchildren are being shaped by their professors. They, along with millions of other university students worldwide, will become the next generation of leaders. What is taught in the university today is believed in the culture tomorrow. Unfortunately, an estimated 95% of professors worldwide are not followers of Christ. These professors promote false ideas such as relativism, atheism, secularism, and Marxism. The good news is that 5% of professors worldwide follow Christ. God has already placed them in positions of influence. Yet most are not connected to one another or equipped to be effective. If just a fraction of these professors are united and equipped to share Christ’s love and truth, the results will be far-reaching. Global Scholars is uniquely positioned to connect and equip Christian professors worldwide and across all academic disciplines. We offer a full slate of programs to empower professors to be Christ's ambassadors on campus.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Fellows Program
The Fellows Program has been in existence since Global Scholars was founded in 1986. It identifies missional Christian academics and helps them go to the world's universities and effectively influence their students for Christ. It provides the support and oversight services of a missions sending agency. Fellows teach outside the US and Canada and live as expatriates in their country of service.
Society of Christian Scholars
Over the years, we have met many missional Christian academics who do not need the administrative missions sending agency support we provide to those in the Fellows program, such as accounting services. However, they desire to be part of the Global Scholars community and to grow in their effectiveness as ambassadors for Christ in their academic institutions. Many of these individuals are indigenous Christian professors. To serve their needs, we launched the Society of Christian Scholars in 2019. We provide 14 targeted Society of Christian Scholars programs to help members have redemptive influence, including webinars, editorial services, mentoring, and access to research databases.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Global Scholars equips Christian professors to have redemptive influence among their students, colleagues, universities, and academic disciplines. Our vision is that one day every student, university, and discipline will have Christian professors who communicate the truth, goodness, and beauty of
Christ.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Global Scholars is uniquely positioned to connect and equip Christian professors worldwide and across all academic disciplines. Ministering to professors in secular colleges and universities, we offer a full slate of programs proven to be effective in equipping Christian scholars to be Christ’s ambassadors on campus.
We connect Christian professors worldwide through the Society of Christian Scholars. There we provide 14 programs and services Christian scholars need to serve Christ among their students, colleagues, and disciplines. These include mentoring, webinars, research databases, editorial services, and more.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Global Scholars continually evaluates the impact of Society of Christian Scholars programs to ensure strong return on investment. Our leadership team members have firsthand experience in academia and have taught and published about the integration of faith and scholarship. Our Regional Representatives come from the part of the world that they serve and can assist professors in culturally meaningful ways. We engage an experienced team of volunteers in various program areas to be good stewards of donated funds.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In the 2022-2023 fiscal year, we equipped 1,159 professors in 71 nations to be salt and light for Christ on their campuses and in their disciplines. Together, they have influenced more than 193,553 university students for Christ (and countless more indirectly through their campus presence, public speaking, and publications.)
Society members have provided feedback showing that the Society of Christian Scholars is equipping professors for redemptive influence:
"Christian scholars are a minority in public universities, but the Society is a good fellowship, not just spiritually, but academically as well."
"I have attended Society seminars, and through the Society's grants, I have organized one workshop and attended an international conference on the integration of faith and scholarship ... The result is that I now think deeply about my research and teaching, to see how I can honor God in my research ethics and excellence and how I can relate to my students and perform my teaching duties as an ambassador of Christ."
"As a young man, I became a teacher to find a means of livelihood. My joining the university was a career move, and there was nothing missional about it. Now comes the Society of Christian Scholars. Your messages have made it clear to me that my job is not coincidental; it is Gods grand design so that I may fulfill His eternal plan through my work and career."
