Mission

Our mission is to serve Christ by being a voice for and a help to people with urgent physical, economic, social, or spiritual needs so that they might become \u2018whole\u2019 persons in body, soul and spirit. We seek to enable individuals in need to move toward relative independence; to serve as a referral source to other agencies and avoid duplication of services; to train and facilitate the helpful involvement of volunteers in community needs; to enhance community understanding and awareness of the needs of those in poverty; and to refer persons to local churches for continuing Christian ministry and support and to serve as a resource to such supportive congregations.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our mission is to assist Jackson County residents in crisis, helping them to move toward relative independence.

Our goal is to eliminate hunger in our county. Our food pantry offers fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, grains, and other healthy foods. We are increasing our collaboration with local farmers to create a sustainable pipeline of fresh, nutritious food for our clients. We are also increasing our mobile pantry events to bring food to areas of need.

We have added staff and pantry capacity in order to meet our goals. We received grants to build an addition to our pantry, adding 400 square feet, and to purchase a van to use for food transportation and mobile pantries.

After our pantry expansion we were able to increase our food donations from WalMart, and added Starbucks as a new donor. The van has allowed us to reach out to the local LatinX farmworker population and parents of school age children. We hired a third permanent staff member to assist our Directors and to help manage our database.
