Come experience a sense of community through live music! Each Tosco Music Party is unique. Tosco Music Parties showcase an eclectic mix of music styles and engage the audience with singalongs throughout the evening. Three times each year (winter, spring, and autumn), Tosco Music Parties feature performances of one or two songs by a variety of approximately 15 scheduled acts (professional and amateur). Every June, Tosco Music hosts a Beatles Tribute in the same format – only all Beatles songs for every performance and singalong!

Three decades ago, John Tosco invited a few of his musician friends for an informal song circle/jam session in his living room. These “music parties” became a way to gather with friends and fellow musicians to create an evening of acoustic music. What began in John’s living room grew to large venues and now takes place at the 1,200-seat Knight Theater: 430 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.

Tosco Music is a resident company of Blumenthal Performing Arts as well as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been enhancing Charlotte’s community through music for over 25 years. In addition to the family-friendly music events, Tosco Music coordinates outreach that includes fundraising for youth music scholarships, singalong music parties at senior centers, a ticket scholarship program, and monthly open mics for families.

Whether you're a veteran of the stage or making your debut, our open mic nights offer a supportive community atmosphere where you can share your love of music.

Usually held on the first Wednesday of every month.

Join us for a smaller, open mic version of the larger music parties. Starting with an open singalong circle where everyone who wants to can strum along, we revisit some of our favorites together to warm up before anyone who has signed up takes the stage. Whether you're an experienced musician or ready to try performing for the first time, the evening offers a supportive community atmosphere where you can share your love of music.

A $3 cover charge is collected at the door and supports The Evening Muse's the travelling musicians fund.

Performers feel the hospitality on the night of events, from the full backline provided, to a buffet dinner in the green room and host housing when needed. We assist with CD sales and help you make connections for future opportunities at area venues and private events.

Tosco Music brings the joy of singing to seniors in the community and area events that are free and open to the public, provides ticket scholarships for neighbors who might not otherwise afford them, and funds youth music scholarships to summer camps at The Swannanoa Gathering and Community School of the Arts.
