Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our focus is on biblical literacy. We seek to help people know what the Bible says, understand the implications, and apply it to their lives.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Wisdom for the Heart
Wisdom For The Heart is a daily program based on the pulpit ministry of Stephen Davey. The messages are relevant, inspiring and faithful to the Word of God. Stephen's passion to make disciples and encourage believers in Jesus Christ comes through in each message. There are two options: a daily program to air each weekday and a weekly program featuring the most recent series in Stephen's pulpit ministry.
Charity House Publishing
Charity House, the publishing arm of Wisdom for the Heart, produces books, commentaries, Bible study guides and other resources designed to make disciples and encourage believers in Jesus Christ.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our primary goal is to faithfully and accurately teach the Bible. We believe that sound, biblical teaching is on the decline. While many churches and ministries expound on life and illustrate with the Bible, we expound on the Bible and illustrate with life. Our teaching is not based on the changing beliefs of the culture. Rather, we believe that Christians should conform their thinking to the unchanging Word of God. The overarching premise of our organization is the belief that the Bible is God's Word and is the supreme authority in the life of everyone who desires to please and obey God.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We provide resources designed to make disciples and encourage believers in Jesus Christ. We believe that media is a powerful tool for sharing truth widely. We use various strategies to accomplish our goal.
We produce and distribute a daily radio program and podcast.
We write, publish, and distribute books, commentaries, Bible study guides, and other print resources.
We maintain a smartphone app and a website.
We publish a monthly magazine called Heart to Heart.
We translate our Bible teaching content into Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili and Arabic.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our Principle Bible Teacher, Stephen Davey, is the founding Pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, NC. The content of our organization flows primarily out of Dr. Davey's teaching ministry.
Our team of staff and volunteers have expertise in audio editing, audio production, writing, desktop publishing, graphic design, constituent relations, and shipping.
We have a team of translators reproducing our lessons and materials in Spanish, Portuguese and Mandarin. We also have a collection of resources in Arabic, Swahili, and Telugu.
We have strategic partnerships with over 300 radio stations in the United States.
We have a strategic partnership with an international radio broadcaster.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Much of our ministry involves doing the same things, over and over again. The Bible does not change, and teaching that is faithful to the Bible is timeless. Our resource archive is steadily growing as Dr. Davey continues his teaching and preaching ministry.
We have several goals and projects we are working on.
The Wisdom Commentary Series is currently being released at two new volumes per year. Our objective is to double that pace.
In 2021, we launched a monthly magazine, Heart to Heart, which features articles, a daily devotional guide, and information about our ministry.
Our biggest project is a second daily radio program called "The Wisdom Journey." The Wisdom Journey will be a 15-minute program that will take listeners through the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, in three years. The Wisdom Journey will also involve accompanying resources such as study guides. We have added a new staff member to oversee this project.

- We review compensation data across the organization (and by staff levels) to identify disparities by race.
- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
