Goals & Strategy

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Band Together's goal is to raise funds, raise awareness and build capacity in the Triangle nonprofit community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
After an extensive vetting process, we select a different nonprofit organization to partner with each year. Only those nonprofits able to steward $1 million effectively are selected. Our success comes from our open source approach. We move in with the partner, open our donor databases and build a plan together to reach our goal.
Another key to our success is effective volunteer management at both the event and board levels. These highly successful community-minded volunteers play significant roles in the day-to-day operations. We have created a volunteer pipeline where we never have to rebuild - we simply reload.
The Band Together team is also adept at raising awareness for our partnering organization's mission. Our network is extensive. Through it, we are able to help our partners develop diverse relationships which enables them to fill in organizational gaps and build capacity.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have two full time staff who have worked in the nonprofit space for thirty years combined. We have a loyal donor base of 400 individuals and corporations. We have 50 young professional operation leaders, 60 Advisory Board members and 19 Board members as well as 100 event volunteers. We also have a wide variety of media partners and in kind relationships who help us deliver the event and tell our partnership story.O
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have strengthened 20 nonprofit organization since 2001. We need to learn how to tell the Band Together story better.
