Oak Hill Cemetery Historic Preservation Foundation’s working to address: Preserving the publicly accessible Oak Hill Cemetery, a nineteenth century romantic garden park cemetery, its historic interment sites, structures, and records, and to support its functions and activities.

Free Walking Tours
Provided quarterly and schedule being development currently.
The Oak Hill Historic Preservation Fund
Contributes to cash reserves for current and future restoration projects, such as drainage and road repair projects and restoration of the fence and gates.
Oak Hill Cemetery General Fund
subsidizes necessary day-to-day operations such as mowing, fall leave removal, water for irrigation and general repairs and maintenance.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Oak Hill Cemetery Historic Preservation Foundation adopted four goals to guide its direction and work for the calendar years of 2018 – 2022:
1. Advance historic preservation and restoration of Oak Hill Cemetery
2. Advance Oak Hill Cemetery grounds beautification
3. Increase outreach to and engagement with the community to raise general awareness of Oak Hill Cemetery
4. Maintain strong financial stewardship to provide support for Oak Hill Cemetery now and in the future

1. Update the inventories of monuments
2. Update the 1998 Bartlett Tree Inventory
3. Update the 2002 A. Morton Thomas Drainage Study
4. Complete Phase 1 of Historic Bigelow Iron Fence restoration

1. Determine ways to improve and begin to fix accessibility
2. Prioritize and continue work on pathway restoration and drainage
3. Create master plan for grounds improvement

What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Sheridan Group completed a Campaign Readiness Assessment which was designed to gauge Oak Hill’s current levels of preparedness to conduct a Capital Campaign; and more importantly, provide guidance and a path forward on completing the remaining steps necessary to conduct a campaign of the size and scope being considered by the cemetery’s leadership. This Campaign Readiness Action Plan included the following components: Overview; Recap of the Key Findings from the Assessment; Broad Action Steps Based on the Assessment’s Recommendations (these will then later be distilled into the Monthly Task Summaries); Roles and Responsibilities for Board(s)/Volunteers, Staff and Counsel;Timeline and Budget. Furthermore, the goals of the Plan will be to, creating a strategic plan to guide the long-term vision for Oak Hill Cemetery, continuing the development of the Board(s), expanding the infrastructure so future activities are consistent and sustainable.
