What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We aim to be the premier professional development resource in the Northeast empowering learning specialists in supporting all learners.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We offer professional development and networking opportunities, which include, conferences with national speakers, networking, active member discussion pages, monthly newsletters, and peer reviewed professional development resources for providing support for students with learning disabilities.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We bring together learning specialists, often isolated in their schools, to share information, mentoring, cutting edge resources, and connections with national speakers on the forefront of research into providing efficacious support for children with learning disabilities.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have provided professional development opportunities and networking for learning specialists in independent schools for over 25 years. In the spring of 2024 we celebrated our 25th anniversary with a conference honoring our members and a new generation of learning specialists! During COVID we pivoted to provide online and in person learning and networking opportunities so that our members could continue to achieve professional growth.
