Mission

Inside Climate News is a Pulitzer Prize-winning, nonprofit, nonpartisan news organization that provides essential reporting and analysis on climate change, energy and the environment, for the public and for decision makers. We serve as watchdogs of government, industry and advocacy groups and hold them accountable for their policies and actions. We have earned national recognition for our work and many of the most prestigious awards in journalism, including the Pulitzer. Already one of the largest dedicated environmental newsrooms in the country, ICN, through its local reporting networks, is committed to training the next generation of journalists, and to strengthening the practice of environmental journalism.

Climate Journalism

Inside Climate News produces award-winning climate journalism, with a particular focus on science, politics & policy, justice, fossil fuels, and clean energy.

Population(s) Served

ICN’s environmental reporting network brings quality science and climate journalism to underserved readers in regional and local markets where journalism is slowly disappearing. We have regional hubs located in the Southeast, Midwest, West Coast, and Texas, so far.

Population(s) Served

We launched an Environmental Justice Reporting Initiative to address the glaring silence on matters of environmental justice in American journalism. So far we have been able to hire a team of three reporters, constituted a stellar advisory board, and are working to build capacity around the country.
