What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Running and Events
Atlanta Track Club, with the help of over 10,000 volunteers, puts on more than 40 events and training programs in the Atlanta metro area each year. Highlighted races include premier races such as the AJC Peachtree Road Race, Publix Atlanta Marathon, PNC Atlanta 10 Miler and Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon, as well as a Grand Prix Series, All Comers Track and Field, and Cross Country events. For 2018 our premier races engaged more than 120,000 runners combined, many of whom used the events as a goal to get in shape and live healthier lifestyles. All our races and events encourage runners, both our 30,0000+ members and the public alike the chance to compete and enhance physical fitness.
Youth Programs
Atlanta Track Club's free-to-all youth running program, Kilometer Kids, focuses on inspiring Atlanta’s youth to achieve health and fitness through a fun and supportive running program, empowering children with the knowledge they need to make smart lifestyles choices. The 11-week Kilometer Kids program is open to any child between the ages of 7 and 14, and is designed for use by schools and community groups as well as parents and families. A few of the program features include:
• Free access to curriculum, including running game ideas, tracking tools and nutritional information.
• Incentive items to all participants who reach their mileage goals.
• Flexibility - parents, teachers and site coordinators can begin the program in the Fall or Spring.
• Opportunity to participate in free, mid-week fun runs and other youth running events organized by Atlanta Track Club.
Kilometer Kids seeks to create lifelong runners, instilling in participants the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle. Through the program, kids learn that exercise is a fun and rewarding activity, opening the door for physical activity to become a lifelong habit.
