Mission
The mission of Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation is to support the work of LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center, which aims to discover the triggers of chronic diseases through innovative research that improves human health. Over the last 30 years, Pennington Biomedical’s world-renowned scientists have made remarkable discoveries that have improved the way Americans exercise, eat, age and think about obesity, diabetes, dementia and other chronic diseases.

Endowed Chairs & Professorships
PBRF provides annual funding to PBRC for endowed chair and professorship holders for faculty supplements, research equipment, and supplies. PBRF maintains 11 endowed chairs and 6 endowed professorships.
Specific Research Projects
PBRF provides funding to PBRC for specific research projects, including those related to skeletal muscle physiology, maternal biology, and obesity's link to genetics and the immune system.
Faculty Support
PBRF provides funding to PBRC faculty members for critical research equipment and supplies in the areas of basic research, clinical research, and population research.
