Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our program is working towards meeting the needs of people experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Available resources are scarce and our advocates strive to find appropriate referrals to meet these needs. Our staff works towards educating and engaging the community in assisting these families.

Residential Shelter Program
Our residential shelter holds between 40 and 50 residents at a time. The average stay is between 45 and 75 days.
Court Advocacy Program
Assisting participants with obtaining Temporary Restraining Orders through the court system. Also education on the cycle of domestic violence and the Crime Victims Reparation Act.
Children's Program
In order to stop the cycle of abuse, the children need to be educated on dating violence and healthy relationships. This is started at an early age with Hand Are Not For Hitting for younger children.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The goal of our organization is to assist survivors of domestic violence in becoming independent and not having to live in an abusive environment.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Continually finding resources to assist in living apart from their abusive partners. Educating on the cycle of abuse and what healthy relationships are.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have recently established the St. Bernard Domestic Violence Coordinated Community Response Team that brings together individuals in government, the private sector, nonprofits, community members, and survivors to strategize how each of our goals intersect and play a part in assisting people in abusive situations.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished a secure funding base; however, are constantly searching for other funding to develop new programs to further assist survivors along their journey to independence. We focus on the children in many instances to be able to break the cycle of abuse.
