What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The Home Company
The Home Company builds award-winning single-family homes, condos and townhomes that are affordable to low- to moderate-income families. The Home Company's development projects, like the Row 8.9 rowhouses (located across the street from the Farmers Market in downtown Nashville), have been instrumental in revitalizing neighborhoods and have received national acclaim.
The HomeOwnership Center - Lending
AHR's HomeOwnership Center provides low-interest mortgage loans and down-payment and closing cost assistance to families earning less than 80% of the area median income to help them achieve their dream of homeownership.
The HomeOwnership Center - Education
AHR's HomeOwnership Center teaches prospective first-time homebuyers the tools to succeed as homeowners. The 8-hour classes cover pre-purchase how-to's like assessing buying power and avoiding predatory loans, as well as post-purchase information such as the importance of home maintenance and budgeting. Because classes are offered free-of-charge to participants, Homebuyer Education is one of AHR's main funding needs.
Neighborhood Rehab Partnership
AHR is teaming up with the North Nashville community to offer the Neighborhood Rehab Partnership (NRP). The NRP is a community-led, volunteer-driven program to impact North Nashville neighborhoods by preserving the homes of low- and very low-income elderly and disabled homeowners. The NRP will empower residents of North Nashville to achieve greater quality of life and accomplish key revitalization goals for their community.
Foreclosure Prevention Counseling
AHR is responding to the current foreclosure crisis by providing HUD- and NeighborWorks America-Certified foreclosure prevention counseling and loss mitigation services. AHR's staff is working with homeowners and lenders to resolve delinquencies and keep families in their homes.
