What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Teen Driving - Operate Teen Driving Institute at 10 campuses and also with a mobile training van which houses driver simulation units to teach safe driving. The Foundation offers state-certified full drivers education programming. Over 10,000 Georgia teens have received training.
Emergency Preparedness - Develop national programs for corporate executive training and mitigation planning for assorted disaster's. Programming includes disaster simulation as well. Also provides education to the public through community programs about preparing for all emergencies; conduct training programs for community volunteers to respond to natural and manmade disasters.
Youth Safety Education - In conjunction with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Campbell's Soup, conduct national Safest Kid in America Contest; program encourages children grades K through 8 to think about safety issues and submit creative safety solutions in the form of entries to a contest. Tens of thousands of children exposed to program since its inception in 2001.
BE Safe America
BE Safe America is a campaign designed to increase public grassroots readiness and help every American “practice” dealing with a major disaster.
An enhancement from the original Drill Down for Safety campaign, BE Safe America was established by the Safe America Foundation in 2011 as a five-year initiative that invites organizations large and small to “plug-and-play” their own preparedness programming into the BE Safe America drill season, which extends from September 11 to November 11.
Be Safe America's ultimate goal...to create an America that is prepared, not scared™ when it comes to dealing with natural and man-made disasters.
Safe Tomorrows
For over 10 years, the Safe America Foundation’s Safe Tomorrows program has engaged youth in thinking about how they can be forces for improving the health and safety of both their community and school. Our programming seeks to help youth find productive paths for addressing the challenges of bullying, distinguishing between healthy and harmful inter-personal relationship and making healthy life choices (proper nutrition, dangers of drugs and alcohol).
In 2016, the Safe Tomorrows Youth Empowerment Project is a series of large-scale a fun filled edutainment safety expo for middle and high school youth and their parents.
Called Brain Camps, the main goal of these program is to affect behaviors of youth by engaging them in interactive events and spurring peer-to-peer dialogue on their pressing health and safety concerns.
An additional focus of our Brain Camps is to underscore the importance that education and finding a mentor can play in allowing a person to achieve success in life. To this end, connecting participating youth with local community leaders is another prominent component of the events.
Welcome Home, Heroes!
The Safe America Foundation's "Welcome Home, Heroes!" Transitional Assistance Program is intended to be an information resource for returning and returned Warriors. In addition, the program will seek to help these individual's friends and family better understand the transition process and challenges their soldiers will face in returning to civilian life.
