Child Development Services

The Child Development programs provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for children with the goal of school readiness and comprehensive social services for the family. The Head Start program is provided to low income families with children between the ages of three and five years of age at 6 centers located across Miami-Dade County.

St. Luke’s Addiction Recovery Center is a comprehensive substance abuse treatment facility licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families to provide Residential Treatment, Outpatient Treatment, Case Management and General Intervention.

The Counseling program serves individuals, couples, families, and children in Miami-Dade and Broward counties facing an array of challenges. The ongoing pandemic continues to add stress and anxiety in our community, especially to our senior population who experienced greater episodes of isolation due to the lockdowns and social distancing practices. In effort to meet the needs of our community the Counseling program offers both in person services and telehealth.

For over 30 years Catholic Charities Adult Day Centers have been providing professional caring services to the elderly in Broward County. The two locations offer multiple daily social and health related activities that promote mental, emotional, and physical wellness. Our Centers have adapted to the pandemic and are able to continue to provide services following regulatory guidelines, providing the safest possible environment for both the consumers and staff.

Our agency provides one-time rent, mortgage, and utility assistance, as well as rapid rehousing opportunities for families and individuals finding themselves homeless or at risk of homelessness in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties.
New Life Family Center is a fifteen-unit homeless shelter located in Wynwood which provides safe transitional housing, meals, case management, information & referrals, and follow-up services.

Refugee Resettlement Program provides case management in educational workshops and trainings that will prepare them for the U.S. workforce. This program assists refugees, entrants, asylees, victims of trafficking, and SIV recipients.

The 11 congregate meals sites and senior centers in Miami-Dade County offer nutritious lunches, social and physical activities and promote friendships for the elderly we serve.

HUD supported housing programs continue to provide permanent supportive housing for disabled adults and previously homeless families and individuals. Case management, counseling, life skills, education, and social activities provided to this unique population. St. Bede's Village provides 37 units of workforce housing.

URMP is a unique foster care program that serves dependents under the age of 18 who are alone in the US, have an unaccompanied refugee minor status and are eligible for resettlement. URMP is a licensed Child-Placing Agency by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

The Unaccompanied Minors Program at Monsignor Walsh Children’s Village also known as Boystown serves minors ranging in ages from 0-17 years. This program offers specialized shelter services for unaccompanied and undocumented minors, in a compassionate, multilingual and multicultural environment. Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami ensures that the physical, social, psychological, educational, and health needs of each child are met while their immigration case is processed. UMP is a licensed Child Caring Agency by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

We aim to meet the following goals:
1. Establish Benchmark Practices
2. Establishing Non Traditional Partnerships

1. Programs will work with Information Technologies towards the automation of a service delivery process, as appropriate. (Intake, Assessment, Service Planning).
2. Programs will establishing non- traditional partnerships/collaborations within the agency, with other agencies, and the private sector that will provide additional resources to benefit the service delivery to the consumers served.
3. The Senior Director of Analytics will work with programs and the Grant Specialist on the collection and reporting of data used for informed decision making.
4. The Finance Department will be working with the Leadership team on funding opportunities which contain funding incentives and establishing alternative sources of funding to finance programs and capital development.
5. The Grants Specialist will be working with the Leadership team to identify, and apply via the grants process for entitlement services that are available to the consumers served that will offer wrap around services.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc. has over 91 years of experience in human services. We have continuously reinvented itself to ensure that services are always relevant to the neediest. Financially, we are consistently stable and always seeking additional resources to grow. Our leadership team consists of staff that has many years in the social services field. In addition, our frontline staff are very passionate and knowledgeable on the services they provide. To meet our goals, our approach is to be innovative and data-driven.

Our organization has all the necessary tasks in the works to meet our goals and we are in the implementation phase. Each individual program has based their short term goals on the agency goals, ensuring that processes are in place to reach them. As we continue with our strategic plan, we will be reviewing goals regularly to assess our progress.
