Crisis Care

Detoxification is the first step on the road to recovery. Our Detox Program for both adult and juveniles is the place to start the recovery process in a compassionate and supportive environment.

Adult Addictions Receiving Facility (AARF) is a secure, medically supervised, substance abuse facility providing emergency assessment, detoxification, stabilization and referral services for adult men and women. Admission may be voluntary or involuntary. Services are 24 hours per day, 365 days per year with a range of 3-5 days. Information and consultation is available for persons seeking involuntary admission for a friend or loved one.

Juvenile Addictions Receiving Facility (JARF) is a 24-hour, secure substance abuse receiving facility providing emergency assessment, detoxification, stabilization, and short term (1-5 days) residential treatment for male and female adolescents 12-17 years old.

You don’t have to put your life on pause to get better. Our objective is to accommodate clients by allowing them to remain in their home and be able to work or attend school while in treatment.

Outpatient Detox provides 4 hours of structured activities during the week. Individuals who are detoxifying from alcohol or other substances are screened and may receive medication to reduce withdrawal symptoms. Psycho-educational recovery support counseling is provided to assist those served to understand what to expect during withdrawal stages and early recovery. Length of stay ranges from 3-30 days based on individual need.

Outpatient Treatment Services provides individual, group and family therapy to adults, adolescents and families. The program is designed to provide treatment and supportive services for substance abuse and co-occurring related disorders to help individuals and their families through the recovery process. Components of outpatient treatment include aftercare, which is offered to all before discharge from other treatment programs in order to continue recovery gains and prevent relapse, and recovery support services, which includes individual and group counseling and linkage to community resources.

Medication Clinic Management Services provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management and monitoring.

ACTS residential treatment center is a live-in healthcare facility providing therapy for substance abuse. ACTS has residential treatment facilities for both juveniles and adults.

Youth Residential Programs provide treatment services for male and female adolescents who have abused alcohol and or other drugs. Residential treatment may be short term (28 days) or long term (3-6 months) based on individual circumstances. Alternative education is provided by local school system teachers on site.

Keystone Residential Treatment Program provides residential treatment for adults with mental health and substance abuse disorders that require a high quality program designed and professionally staffed to meet the needs of individuals and their families. Resident stays can range from 28 days to 6 months based on individual circumstances.

ACTS VA Grant and Per Diem provides licensed Level IV residential care to veterans with co-occurring substance and/or mental health disorders. The purpose of the program is to provide supportive housing and supportive services with the goal of helping homeless Veterans achieve residential stability, increase their skill levels and/or income, and obtain greater self-determination.

Supportive housing is an evidence-based housing intervention that combines non-time-limited affordable housing assistance with wrap-around supportive services for people experiencing homelessness, as well as other people with disabilities.

Community Support Services provide Permanent Supportive Housing, which include: Housing for Forensic individuals, Veterans, and individuals with HIV and/or substance abuse/mental health disorders. Each individual in these housing programs receives support services through dedicated case managers. ACTS provides apartments and homes and housing through community landlords and throughout Hillsborough, Polk and Highlands Counties.

ACTS Bridge Program utilizes two site based congregate living facilities and eight scattered apartments to provides food, shelter and recovery support services to adults who are homeless with co-occurring substance abuse and/or mental health disorders.

Amethyst Respite Center (ARC) is an inebriate shelter designed as a diversion program from jails, hospitals, detox and crisis units. Those served must be 18 years of age or older and ambulatory. The center is co-occurring capable and accepts individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders.

The Hillsborough HEART Program provides permanent supportive housing through 100 units of scattered site leasing for persons who are chronically homeless with a disability via rental assistance throughout Hillsborough County. Residents of HEART housing are supported by the services of an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT).

The Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) is a central receiving, processing, assessment, and intervention program that bring community services for young offenders and truants who are presented by law enforcement. ACTS collaborates with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), the Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County School Board, USF, Hillsborough County Department of Children’s Services (CINS, FINS) and others to provide services at this single intake center.

Case Management Services for Juveniles at Hillsborough JAC
These services are provided at JAC specifically for youth that are minor offenders and therefore eligible to be diverted from the Juvenile Court System. ACTS provides the case management services, including intake, assessment and direct referrals until the youth completes the diversion program.

Prevention Services
Prevention services are provided to all individuals presented for JAC services. The individuals view a video targeted at substance abuse prevention and are given the opportunity to discuss the film with a trained staff. The individuals are asked to complete a satisfaction survey.

HIV Intervention Program
HIV services at the Hillsborough JAC using Health Coaches and the continuing care medical treatment available through Tampa Family Health Center clinics.

Polk County Regional Juvenile Assessment Center
The Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) is a central receiving, processing, assessment, and intervention program that bring community services for young offenders and truants in a multi-agency collaborative manner at a single location. Youth must be brought into JAC by law enforcement.

Provides individual, group and family therapy services to adults and families. The program is designed to provide treatment and supportive outpatient services for substance abuse and co-occurring related disorders to help individuals and their families through recovery process so they can begin to regain self-sufficiency and live a productive and drug-free lifestyle.

ACTS also offers a variety of programs to those in the community including an assessment center, a group home for teen girls in Broward County, and serves as a collection site for those who need drug testing and monitoring.

ACTS Assessment Center provides walk-in assessment and evaluation services for individuals of all ages who request services for substance abuse. Individuals are provided recommendations based on information received, drug testing, and special needs. Individuals may be self-referred, court ordered, or referred by community agencies.

ARRIS Group Home for Foster Care Girls (Broward County) between the ages of 12 and 18 that provide room, board, supervision and treatment services, life skills training, and recreational, leisure and cultural opportunities. All placements to the program are made by ChildNet.

Lab Services Youth and Adults provides urine screening for walk-ins and treatment programs in order to validate self reported drug use. Collection Site for Drug Testing Youth and Adults voluntary and offers court initiated drug testing for the purposes of assessment and monitoring.

ACTS provides and manages a broad array of behavioral health services, including prevention, acute care and stabilization, treatment and support services in the arenas of substance abuse, co-occurring substance abuse and mental illness, child protection, delinquency, criminal justice, housing, economic self-sufficiency, health and wellness.
ACTS has combined excellence and compassion with best practice to address addiction through a variety of services to help achieve recovery. Our goal is to provide the most cost effective substance abuse and mental health treatment with the highest level of care.
