Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Consumer Education and Outreach
FCAN Foundation's members and staff research issues and educate Florida consumers to increase civic engagement and build grassroots support on consumer issues including environmental protection, insurance reform, utility regulation, and health care. Program staff and Board members work to develop and mobilize activists into issue coalitions including environmental, church, labor, civic, and senior citizen groups.
Our organizing staff speaks directly to Floridians each year, presenting them with opportunities to become involved with issues which affect their lives through volunteering, meetings, leadership, petition signing, phone calling, and letter writing campaigns.
Phone canvassers maintaining regular communications with our members and supporters across the state, updating them on issues and encouraging action.
FCAN Consumer Education
FCAN Foundation supports the non-lobbying consumer education work of Florida Consumer Action Network, Inc. (FCAN) a 501 C4 organization. We support work on insurance, utilities, and civie engagement including voter registration and GOTV.
Civic Engagement
FCAN Foundation runs civic engagement programs in the I-4 corridor including voter registration and GOTV. These programs are aimed at underrepresented individuals including minorities and low income.
Complete Streets
FCAN Foundation is working with the City of St Petersburg on a program called Complete Streets which will improve health and safety of streets. It will especially focus on walking, bicycling, and access for differently abled.
