What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Tampa Bay Transportation
The Tampa Bay region is known for gridlock, high pedestrian and bicyclist accidents, and lack of public transit options. FCAN continues to work on improving options for residents including usable mass transit options, safer streets, and protecting the environment.
A major program is Complete Streets - a project to create streets for everyone -- drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, disabled, elderly, everyone. This helps promote a healthier community.
Save The Bees
Bees are dying from pesticides and mites. People cannot survive long without bees to pollinate our crops. Florida has over 400 bee species. All are at risk. The dangerous pesticides are used not only by big agriculture, but by Florida residents on lawns and gardens.
Our goal is to educate everyone and get the dangerous chemicals phased out and replaced with safer alternatives.
Insurance Consumer Advocacy
Consumers are at a disadvantage dealing with insurance companies. These large companies have a "product" most people don't understand. FCAN educates consumers and decision makers on insurance issues. Our work covers homeowner, medical, auto, life, flood, surplus lines, and reinsurance.
Automobile Buying
FCAN educates consumers on how to get the best deal when purchasing a car. We provide insight on pricing and add ons, giving consumers an edge.
