Best Trails in Pinellas County

aka WHA   |   Seminole, FL   |  https://www.whahorse.org

Mission

WHA was incorporated in 1987 to provide an equestrian park safe from traffic and other hazards. WHA trail fees cover insurance and property maintenance of the WHA Horse Park to promote responsible and safe recreational use of horses while protecting the county against liability. Today, WHA has approximately 55 members in Pinellas County. Members volunteer their time assisting with park maintenance including trail trimming and fence maintenance. WHA sponsors equine activities including therapeutic riding for the handicapped and local horse shows. Each year WHA sponsors the annual St. Jude Ride to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. All of these programs contribute to the development of our youth by teaching responsibility, sportsmanship, community awareness and leadership

Our mission is to keep the WHA Park a safe area for Equestrian use. Maintenance of this park is a major hurdle to include: - Mowing (at $700 each time and we are required to mod at least 6 times a year) - Maintenance of the fencing (this requires a lot of volunteer work - Maintenance of the Trails, extremely hard work that includes a lot of manual tree cutting and trimming, haul off of debris etc. - Maintenance of the bridge and the boards that make up the footing
