What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Road & Trail Races
Provide opportunities for competition and fitness for local athletes by producing high-quality annual events. Set the example of best practices for race event management as a community leader in race production. Share information resources with local nonprofits producing running events.
Kids Run Club
The LRC Kids Run Club prepares kids for a lifetime of running. This is program is held during the school year, is gender-neutral, and designed for children in kindergarten through fourth grade regardless of school affiliation.
The emphasis of this program is on participation and developing a healthy lifestyle as opposed to being a competitive running program. The workouts include stretching, repeats, sprints, and distance runs. Parents are required to stay at the practice location for the entirety of the program and are encouraged to participate in the workout.
Middle School Development & Cross Country
The middle school program is intended to encourage enthusiasm for running by striving to instill a love of the sport in a fun and encouraging community. The middle school program is open to anyone in the 5th through 8th grade regardless of school affiliation or ability level. For youth interested in adding competition skills, the LRC Lightning Cross Country team is an option to race middle school cross country 3k distance.
5k Beginner Program
This program is designed for beginners to gradually build up their running ability so that they can complete a 5k (3.1 mile) race.
10k Training
