Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Adopt Cats and Dogs into Permanent Homes
Safe Animal Shelter finds loving forever homes for approximately 2000 dogs and cats a year. Thru on-site and mobile adoptions.
Behavior Assistance
The Safe Animal Shelter provides behavior assistance to struggling pet owners by discussing responsible pet ownership and positive reinforcement training. Our staff also works to improve the lives of our shelter animals and increase their adoptability thru daily enrichment programs.
Prepare homeless pets for adoption, both physically and emotionally
Many of the animals that come into Safe Animal Shelter are injured, fighting diseases, or are confused as to why they are at the shelter. Our team assesses the animals to see how they react to different situations. Helping them to overcome issues they may have so they can become part of a loving family.

- We analyze disaggregated data and root causes of race disparities that impact the organization's programs, portfolios, and the populations served.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
