aka Jobsite Theater   |   Tampa, FL   |  http://jobsitetheater.org

Mission

Jobsite Theater is dedicated to the creation of socially and politically relevant theater and the pursuit of performing it to the broadest possible audience. Jobsite has established and will continue to evolve a collective of like-minded artists, creating a supportive environment where artists of all disciplines may experiment, hone, and apply their skills in a professional laboratory environment. Through all forms of theater – experimental, new plays, contemporary work, or the classics – as well as our expanding education programs, we hope to inspire our community to become not just consumers, but true citizens.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To be the premiere professional regional theater company in the Tampa Bay region.

Excellence in every area of production, creating strong ties in every area of the community, and doing all we can to participate in educational opportunities to help create tomorrow's audiences. One way we attempt to do all three of those things is in our casting of actors, we are working very hard to be conscious that the people on our stage reflect the diversity in our community.

As resident theater company of one of the largest performing arts centers in the country, we have a very unique opportunity in our ability to reach people. We've been at this for 20 years now, a testament of our staying power.

We've grown our education program from serving a few hundred people annually to now reaching over 2,500. Ticket sales for shows just two years ago averaged $25,000 per production and now top over $35,000. We hope to be able to increase these numbers annually. Our goal for next year is to reach over 3,000 students.

Data
  • We review compensation data across the organization (and by staff levels) to identify disparities by race.
Policies and processes
  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
