Grant Program

The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida is the oldest and largest community foundation in Florida. Since 1964, we’ve served Duval, Baker, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau and Putnam counties, growing to $630 million in assets and having awarded $640 million in grants since inception. Our mission is Stimulating Philanthropy to Build a Better Community.
We have 600+ funds from which donors recommend grants or we direct grantmaking via competitive or negotiated processes. Areas of Foundation-directed grantmaking focus include Neighborhoods, Affordable Housing, Public Education, Safety Net, and the Arts for which our discretionary grantmaking tops $2 million annually. We’re also the proud steward of endowed funds for nearly three dozen local nonprofits. We host three collective giving circles which together grant $1+ million per year to help women and girls, to respond to the underserved communities along our coast, and to support services to the LGBTQ community.
