Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

KMAC Museum is a free-admission contemporary art museum in downtown Louisville on Museum Row. Through exhibitions, education, and outreach, KMAC Museum works to connect people to art and creative practice.

The museum acts as a creative influence in the community, drawing people together to experience its arts leadership, exhibitions, education, and permanent collection. KMAC's core values are:

- Accessibility to art through transformative experiences for everyone that spark curiosity, inspire meaningful connections, and foster a deep sense of inclusion, belonging, and purpose.
- Learning at the personal and institutional level, for KMAC staff and visitors alike.
- Responsibility through thoughtful stewardship of the museum, collection, and financial resources for the public good.
- Respect for the creative process and the arts.
- Relevance through connection and response to the local and global community.

KMAC Museum is an educational institution creatively engaging with the community through interesting and accessible programs. KMAC provides educational resources to both children and the general public. The museum hosts activities, lectures, and gatherings around exhibitions providing a thought provoking platform to learn about, discuss, and be with art. This is provided in an intimate setting so that all feel welcome.

KMAC's newly renovated facility (2016) capable of hosting and facilitating multiple programs for varying audiences at the same time. The museum's staff are professional, community-based individuals trained in art, dialogue and creative engagement. Thanks to generous support from Delta Dental of Kentucky, the museum offers free admission every day to increase access for visitors across the community and region.

The museum has tripled the amount of free community and educational programming, offering 40 hours of free programs every month. The new programs attract a wide range of audiences and interests, serving everyone from toddlers to seniors, and have helped to increase our daily visitor numbers by 20% in the first 6 months of being offered.

Some of the challenges the museum faces include brand and marketing clarification, visitor retention, and membership sales with free admission.
