What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
CASA of Graves County & Southwest KY
Operating CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for children since 2000 and currently provides volunteer advocates for dependent, neglected, and abused children whose case is being heard in the 1st, 52nd, and 59th Judicial District Courts. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a volunteer driven program that provides judicial advocacy to child abuse victims whose case is being heard in court. CASA volunteers speak up for the best interest of a child. They provide the judge with an additional set of "eyes and ears" from which to learn information. CASA provides the court with historical fact based reports that include recommendations as to what is in the best interest of the child. CASA volunteers are the voice of the child during proceedings and they ensure that the judge knows their wishes. CASA advocates for the best interests of children in need of a safe permanent home.
