The problem is food insecurity amongst the residents of Greenup County. The current overall food insecurity rate for our county (as of 2023) is 17.2%. The food insecurity rate for Greenup County children during the same time period is 20.3%.

Food Pantry
Eligible clients are able to receive supplemental food boxes once every 4-6 weeks.
Clothing closet
Eligible clients may pick out up to two complete outfits per person in their household every time they visit.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is extremely simple. We are looking for a Greenup County where no man, woman or child is food insecure. No one should have to choose between food and medicine, clothing or paying utility bills. Ultimately, we would like to see the food insecurity rate for Greenup County be 0%.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We provide monthly food assistance to our neighbors in Greenup County. We also distribute monthly Commodity Supplemental Food Program boxes to qualifying Greenup County senior citizens (60 and older). We also provide assistance for clothing and, when funds are available, provide assistance with utilities and life sustaining medication. In addition, we advocate with local, state and federal leaders concerning food insecurity awareness. Finally, we partner with other agencies, businesses. churches and individuals to reduce food waste and encourage donation.
