What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Thrift Stores
Thrift Stores allow clients to shop for clothing, household items, and furniture at a low cost. We also work with several agencies to provide their clients with free items.
CommUNITY School Programming
Through the CommUNITY School programming, Northside Neighborhood House (NNH) creates opportunities to impact students & support entire families during times of crisis. The CommUNITY School model transforms schools into resource hubs, fostering equity by promoting education, well-being, & independence for all within the school’s footprint. This holistic approach develops well-rounded individuals better prepared for success in life. NNH CommUNITY School Coordinators are embedded within schools, forging collaborative partnerships that provide wrap-around support for students & families. They work closely with students, teachers, & administrators during the school day while also increasing family engagement in education. In middle & high schools, Coordinators run after-school programs offering homework help, tutoring, mentorship, & skill-building activities. By being present daily, Coordinators build strong relationships with students, identify barriers to success & help them thrive.
Emergency Direct Assistance/Stability Support
The Stability Program helps neighbors through direct financial assistance, emergency food boxes, providing school supplies, and making the season brighter with an annual Santa's Workshop. Empowerment classes like renter education, cooking and computer classes and resume writing/job application programs are also offered.
