Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Operations
East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), in its efforts to increase philanthropy and improve the quality of life in our region, has three main areas of operation: receiving assets, managing resources/investing money, and making grants. ETF is a grantmaker, not a direct program provider. ETF provides philanthropic services to donors through a variety of fund structures. In addition to donor services, ETF solicits and reviews competitive proposals from four primary areas of interest: Arts and Culture, Community Development, Youth at Risk, and Education/Scholarships. Affiliate Funds also conduct competitive grantmaking programs in their respective counties. Through its role as a community foundation, ETF also provides technical assistance to applicant organizations and grantees and serves as a community convener to facilitate collaborative work among the nonprofit sector, public sector, and private sector.
