What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Color of Music

The Color of Music is an award-winning educational project that encourages thousands of West Tennessee students to interpret classical music into a visual art form. Each year the League assists The Jackson Symphony in presenting a new program where students and teachers have the opportunity to experience an Open Rehearsal and view how the conductor, soloist and musicians work together to create the highest quality musical performance.

Population(s) Served

High school students, whose parents are League members, assist in ushering at all symphony concerts in addition to aiding the League in other service projects throughout the year. Their time is recorded and can be counted as community service volunteer hours. The Senior Ambassadors are recognized at The Crystal Ball each year as a thank you for their service.

Population(s) Served

The League serves as ushers at The Jackson Symphony's Open Rehearsals that both children and adults may attend.

Population(s) Served

The League provides food and beverages at The Jackson Symphony rehearsals and various symphony events for musicians. The League, along with The Jackson Symphony Association's "Orchestra Musician Housing Task Force," also houses musicians in local homes in order to form strong bonds in the community.
