St. Mary's Retreats and Conferences

Please refer to our website (www.stmaryssewanee.org) for a full listing of our 2019 program and retreat offerings. St. Mary’s Sewanee offers personal and group programs designed to foster spiritual growth and interests. Whether you are interested in a Centering Prayer, Mindfulness Meditation, or a spirituality-based retreat, we offer a program for spiritual resurgence and reflection for your journey of faith.

Population(s) Served

Centering Prayer is a form of Christian silent mediation where one lets go of thoughts during periods of prayer typically lasting 20 minutes. It is rooted in the self-emptying love that forms the heart of Jesus’ teaching and life. The effect on those who practice it is an ever-increasing awareness of God’s action and presence in the course of ordinary life.
