What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Spay & Neuter

Every rescue we take in is spayed or neutered. These costs can range from $45 to $200 depending on the location of the dog.

Population(s) Served
Adults

We accept dogs that have liver shunt and we take them to the University of TN where they repair the shunt by placing an ameroid constrictor on the portal vein. UT has the best Surgeons in the country, including Dr. Karen Tobias. These surgeries can cost anywhere from $1800 to $2000 which many owners can't afford. Yorkie rescue takes in these special needs dogs, oversees their surgery and recovery. YTNR continues to provide a foster home for these dogs until their bile acids return to normal, approximately 3 -4 months after surgery and at that point they are put up for adoption and placed in their forever homes where they have lived long healthy happy lives. We have done this surgery on approximately 50 dogs all with amazing success !!!!
