Mission

The primary objective of the Arc is to secure for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work, and play. The Arc is further committed to reducing the incidence and limiting the consequence of intellectual disabilities through education, research, advocacy, and the support of families, friends, and the community.

The Arc of Tuscaloosa serves approximately 320 people. We have a supported employment program that has placed individuals in competitive employment in our community as well as following many at their job site with long-term support services. In our day habilitation programs, individuals are gaining skills that will lead toward unlimited futures. We support individuals in the community and in their homes through provision of Hourly Services.
