Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

1. To develop a living history program to utilize park resources to encourage children to learn and appreciate history. 2. To develop and test methods to improve safety of cyclists and motorists on the parkway. 3. To develop a program to help people living near the park utilize park trails to improve health.

1. Conduct educational initiatives 2. Work with Adventure Cycling Association and NPS to develop new safety techniques. 3. Partner with NPS and area universities to develop a trail fitness program and study the health benefits. 4. Restore and maintain the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail.

1, The Association has obtained the physical assets (tents, clothing, and equipment) to conduct living history and it has recruited volunteers. 2. The Association has developed a fund to help create safety programming. 3. The Association has established partnerships with area universities, local governments, and hiking organizations to develop the Trail Fit program.

1. Several thousand school children have participated in the program and have given it their "awesome" seal of approval. Parents reported to teachers that their children could not stop talking about the events. 2. Signs have been installed and three public forums have been held. 3. Partnerships have been developed with Vanderbilt University and the University of North Alabama, as well as local governments to create the Trail Fit program and to begin research.
