What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Cellular Telephone Tour of the Nathcez Trace Parkway
The Association is working with the National Park Service to create a cell phone tour of the park. The tour will allow NPS to provide visitors more information about history, nature and recreation.
Marty Owens Living History
The living history program educates the public by surrounding them with the words, sights and sounds of the era when the Natchez Trace was one of the first federal roads in the U.S.
Gary Holdiness Cycling Fund
The program promotes safe cycling on the Natchez Tarce Parkway. In particular, it enhances motorists' awareness of cyclists on the parkway.
Trail Fit
The program utilizes the Healthy Parks Healthy People program to encourage people to hike Natchez Trace Parkway trails to improve their heatlh and well-being, and it monitors the results.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. To develop a living history program to utilize park resources to encourage children to learn and appreciate history. 2. To develop and test methods to improve safety of cyclists and motorists on the parkway. 3. To develop a program to help people living near the park utilize park trails to improve health.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
1. Conduct educational initiatives 2. Work with Adventure Cycling Association and NPS to develop new safety techniques. 3. Partner with NPS and area universities to develop a trail fitness program and study the health benefits. 4. Restore and maintain the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
1, The Association has obtained the physical assets (tents, clothing, and equipment) to conduct living history and it has recruited volunteers. 2. The Association has developed a fund to help create safety programming. 3. The Association has established partnerships with area universities, local governments, and hiking organizations to develop the Trail Fit program.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
1. Several thousand school children have participated in the program and have given it their "awesome" seal of approval. Parents reported to teachers that their children could not stop talking about the events. 2. Signs have been installed and three public forums have been held. 3. Partnerships have been developed with Vanderbilt University and the University of North Alabama, as well as local governments to create the Trail Fit program and to begin research.
