Hospice is for everyone, regardless of regardless of age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, or sexual orientation. We are committed to community outreach and education. Our goal is for everyone living in our service area to understand what hospice care is and what services are available to them. Even though hospice care started in the 1970s, misunderstandings and myths still breed fear in so many. We strive to educate and bring community awareness to everyone so no one ever misses out on receiving quality hospice care and grief support services. All services at Treasure Coast Hospice are available to anyone in Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties regardless of their ability to pay. Our Hospice Care program is provided to patients wherever they call home. The Grief Support Services program is free to all children and adults that have experienced a loss.

Treasure Coast Hospice is here to help . . .

Let us care for your loved one with the highest quality end-of-life care in our community. Patients receive care wherever they call home, including nursing homes or assisted living facilities. If a higher level of care is needed, we offer three Inpatient Units. Patients receiving the special care of hospice often feel better and live longer.

Hospice care is usually delivered at home, but when a loved one needs 24/7 acute pain and symptom management for brief periods of time, care can be provided in one of Treasure Coast Hospice’s three Inpatient Units. These beautiful units offer a home-like serene setting for patients and families.

Family and friends may visit anytime. Each private patient room is comfortably furnished with a sleeper sofa so loved ones may stay the night. Children and family pets are welcome.

The PIC:TFK program offers specialized palliative care support from the Little Treasures care team for children and adolescents who are experiencing a life-limiting illness.

Eligibility for this benefit:

Enrolled in Children’s Medical Services Network (CMSN).
Diagnosis of potentially life limiting illness, birth to age 21.
Resides in the county that participates in the waiver.
Authorized for participation by a CMS primary care physician.

The Little Treasures care team is made up of a family physician, a pediatric nurse and social worker, a certified music therapist, chaplain and volunteers. Trained to work with pediatric patients, our specialized team helps families overcome the challenges of caring for a child with a serious illness. Helping families enjoy quality time together creates special moments and memories that bring comfort and healing.

Treasure Coast Hospice Grief Support counselors help adults, children and families in each of the communities we serve. Our counselors offer willing ears, an open heart and years of experience to help you find the tools you need to cope with grief and find hope and healing.

We offer group, individual and family counseling and support. Our Crisis Response Team provides care to schools, businesses and community organizations in the event of an unexpected loss, mass-casualty or natural disaster.

The wide-ranging grief support program at Treasure Coast Hospice encompasses individual counseling, youth counseling, group counseling, and family counseling. When tragedy strikes a school setting or workplace, our counselors are there, offering direction, guidance and support to create a place of calm amidst the turmoil.

Grief counseling is available to all who grieve in Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties, thanks to generous grants and community contributions. Donations are accepted, but no one is turned away from our places of hope and healing because of the inability to pay.

Treasure Coast Hospice is proud to be a certified Level Four We Honor Veterans Partner with Veterans Affairs and other veterans organizations. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to providing quality care and services to veterans and their families in our communities.

We are honored to care for veterans with advanced illness, wherever they live – in their family homes, assisted living residences, skilled nursing facilities or hospitals.

Our Veteran Volunteer Program pairs recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as veterans. Once paired with hospice patients who also have military experience, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient, thereby creating an environment where life reflection and healing may occur.

Treasured Pets is a service offered by Treasure Coast Hospice to assist hospice patients with the care of their beloved pets. We understand a pet’s contribution to the emotional and spiritual well-being of a patient and his or her family.

Our goal is to help maintain the general health and a balanced lifestyle for the pet at a time when it may be difficult for the family to do so alone. We help to relieve the strain on the patient or family regarding their pet presently, as well as concern for its future.

The success of this program depends upon a dedicated group of compassionate volunteers who assist in the care of our patients’ pets. Volunteer responsibilities vary by situation but will typically include:

Active play and dog walking
Transporting pets to groomers & vets

Treasure Coast Hospice continually strives to go above and beyond its mission by offering therapies and
services proven to bring comfort and added quality of life to patients and families regardless of whether
Medicare or private insurance offer coverage or the individual’s ability to pay. Music Therapy, Massage
Therapy and Aromatherapy are offered to pair with our traditional hospice care and have all been proven
to reduce pain, anxiety, lower blood pressure and heart rate, and improve cognitive response and
interpersonal bonding. All services are performed by a licensed therapist.

We focus on having an open conversation with the community about hospice care and the services Treasure Coast Hospice provides. We work closely with individuals, families and the community to give them the information they need to access our services sooner, provide them with resources while they or a loved one is under our care and spread the message that we are here to provide support after a loss.Treasure Coast Hospice offers community presentations on various topics including how to have the "difficult" conversation, stress management, grief and loss, advance care planning and much more. We also attend community health fairs and events to help keep the conversation open by discussing our place in the healthcare continuum.

Treasure Coast Hospice cares for well over 8,000 adults and children each year through the Hospice Care and the Grief Support Services programs for adults, children, healthcare organizations, schools and businesses in our service area regardless of their ability to pay. Our clinical teams work to provide quality hospice services that bring comfort and improve quality of life for over 400 patients daily wherever they call home. It is crucial that we are able to communicate effectively and respectfully to all, regardless of age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

Our organization is striving to educate every healthcare professional, patient and residents in the communities we serve so no one misses out on the quality services Treasure Coast Hospice provides. Our staff is working to translate key collateral and documents into multiple languages, identify bilingual staff to increase communication with the community at large and step up our diversity and inclusion training organization wide. Treasure Coast Hospice trains staff annually however, we felt that more was needed.

Our Diversity and Inclusion Council is now working closely with staff and other community organizations to ensure we are do everything possible for everyone in our community to feel welcome on our campuses, free to call with questions and encouraged to reach out for services early.

The Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation provides further assistance to patients and caregivers that need financial help with utility bills, mortgage payments, traveling expenses so families can be together and so much more. The funding we received from the community helps us to keep the Community Programming like Grief Support, Little Treasures Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Care, three Inpatient Units (IPUs), Treasured Pets, Music, Massage and Aromatherapy available to all. We are serious about improving the comfort and quality of life for patients, clients and those that love them.

We work to bring awareness and education to our community through newsletters, social media, community events, speaker's bureau and various other platforms so individuals will know what services are available to them. Our Marketing Department is working to translate our various collateral to several languages so everyone is educated about our services.

Our work to translate our materials, continue to develop a Speakers Bureau, Community Programming like our robust Grief Support Program, Music and Massage Therapy, Pet Care Programs, IPUs takes funding. The Foundation works to raise the annual need for these programs through individual donations and grants and to provide sustainable income in the way of endowments so no one ever has to go without quality hospice care or the resources to heal from grief.

Our entire staff is committed to educating the community regarding hospice care and grief support.

The Foundation staff publishes a popular newsletter, The Impact, on a quarterly basis to over 40K local residents that educates about TCH available services and programs available for patients, families and members of the community.

Our Community Relations team focuses on individuals, communities and businesses. And connects with several thousand individuals, businesses and community groups each year.

The Foundation also works closely with the Marketing Department to craft social media posts and email blasts that help engage and educate those living in Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties.

Our Speakers Bureau works with our Community Ambassadors and is comprised of staff, board members and volunteers that believe in our mission and care deeply about the community. We continue to provide training and work to find opportunities in the community to speak.

Our Grief Support team of licensed professionals are always working hard providing care for the community through individual and group counseling sessions, training for other agencies and crisis response to help others deal with unexpected loss.

Professional Relations staff works to build partnerships with the healthcare community.

Our executives are always willing to meet with other leaders in the community as well as individuals to share what our services provide and how early intervention is best for the patients and families alike.

COVID has certainly thrown our staff a curveball but we have done a great job of switching gears. Our first-ever virtual live event, That's Amore, highlighted a video that shared a message from our CEO, program information and stories. The event was wildly successful and we now have a wonderful video that we can share with the community at the touch of a button that will help bring awareness about our services to the community.

Treasure Coast Hospice is now holds a Nation Jewish Hospice Certification and continues to educate the staff throughout the year.

The Treasure Coast Hospice Diversity and Inclusion Council is now in full swing and meeting regularly. They have already participated in the United Way’s Women United 21 day challenge, a training based on training by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr. to develop a deeper understanding of how inequity and racism affect our lives and community.

The Council is also actively working with Marketing to translate many educational materials to Creole and Spanish so all communities have a chance to understand and take advantage of our services.

The Foundation's Impact newsletter mails to over 40K households and businesses located in Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties filled with educational materials and news about what is happening at Treasure Coast Hospice.

The Foundation is also working to import additional religious organizations and other community groups to their database and is beginning to actively connect with various groups throughout the tri-county area.

Email blasts are being sent out regularly with updates about our services, resources available to those who need assistance and the impact of philanthropic giving.

Our Professional Relations team is out around town each day visiting local healthcare facilities to share what we do with professionals who care for individuals that would benefit from our services.

We have a Speaker's Bureau that will come speak to local communities and groups about 5 Wishes, Hospice Care, Grief Support and a variety of other topics.

Treasure Coast Hospice also partners with many other charities like the Alzheimer's Association, Cleveland Clinic, Council on the Aging, Breast Cancer Awareness, Warriors for Multiple Sclerosis and so many more! We all support each others efforts and help to educate the community together.
